Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
With the whole YA Mafia coming to a close it is time for us, the book bloggers to manufacture yet another controversy. We are fantastically adept at creating something out of nothing, and I wouldn’t want there to be a week where we went without some drama, so I offer you my ideas.
-some egg Neil Gaiman at an event and then go online and say the author had it coming because he was the god father of the YA Mafia.
-Someone ‘take one for the team’ and write about feminism in YA (this is a trending controversy just waiting to rear it’s head)
-Someone close down their blog because they just can’t take it anymore.
-let’s all make fun of bloggers who won’t write negative reviews, because that’s just stupid the idea of those bastards, wanting to only write about books they love. The effin nerve.
-create a vague hashtag on Twitter let others try to figure out what it means. All the while say nothing.
Or better yet maybe YA bloggers could go a week without a controversy. The last I checked most of us were adults and this bickering and whining and complaining is beyond ridiculous. You are supposed to have fun on your blog. Maybe we should all get back to that.

“Every kiss begins with Kay,” my butt! Do you know how many books you could buy for the price of one of those diamond necklaces?
I have to go walk the dog.
Pam from BBFWD left a heartfelt and lengthy comment on the the critic is dead post You can view it in the above image.
I wanted to let you all know that the idea of the professional reviewer is dead - it has been killed by people like me, “Stay-at-home-mom and blogger.” So, I don’t really care if, according to this article in the Spectator, people would “rather hear what Julie Myerson has to say about the latest AS Byatt than Lynette, full-time mom and doglover from Arkansas.”
I mean, who in the hell is Julie Myerson, anyway?
Yep, it was Vanilla Ice in a roundabout way. Yo, book blogging haters, step off :).
This is how we get followers at the BBFWD office.
